Over all not bad .. but I think i still liked the previous rice better!
I made a new friend in hong kong, through my friend in singapore, and she also introduced me to her group of friends that she hangs out with in Hong Kong.
We all decided to meet at this dim sum restaurant to get to know each other better.
of all we ordered, I think the best of the restaurant are:

Special Baked po lo char siew pau

Steamed black beaned pork ribs with glass noodles at the
The baked po lo baos are one of the best I have eaten in Hong Kong! this is so worth the calories!!!

My brother is in Hong Kong for exchange!! Good thing hes around! can always trust him for good food hunts :p
so hes putting up in my place until he manages to find a place to live in …
he found this curry pork chop rice that is super duper yummilicious!! we have been eating everyday for lunch! especially when we are all lazy to cook or even to have to push each other to go and ta bao for the other (ok it always ends up to be me)

ta dam!!!!

I think its amazing how the portions in Hong Kong is always so BIG! and yet the people here are like either super skinny or super duper skinny.Look at this pork chop! its can cover the whole rice portion!!!

Curry Sauce!!
the curry sauce is a little too oily for me BUT , when you just combine it together.. you just can’t stop eating it! like really can’t stop putting it in your mouth! and amazingly!! WE FINISHED IT ALL!!!!
to take away is cheaper, but this is a definite hit. I could eat this almost everyday!!!

I didn’t know my colleagues were in love with crystal Jade!
One day after work, 3 of us went to the near by branch to have dinner and talked about taiwanese and Singapore cultures.

Ze jiang pork ribs

Hellow

Crispy eel

Dan dan noodles
For some reason, the dan dan noodles have been one of the best I have eaten so far! Its spicy and so shiok! although I kept drinking water, the base was peanutty the way i like it, as well as it was just those spicy food that I just can’t stop having! The Xiao long bao is also yummy, so is the rice cake ( i notice how my colleagues do take a liking to Shanghainese cuisine)
definite return!

did i mentioned that my colleagues introduced me to this place, they said that I must experience what they are talking about for myself about this place.
From what they described to be, I totally believed them when I saw the food.
The portioning are HUMONGOUS! to the extent i feel like as i eat it, some how the volume never changes!!!

Carrot Soup

Sliced pork fried onion

Ma po toufu

Lu beef - close to tw style
The portions here are huge! All these dishes were shared between 3-4 of us!
my goodness, we had trouble finishing it all!

So we are back to try, as previously mentioned, my colleague is on his quest to eat this all you can eat steamboat!
I am quite excited as this will be my first hong kong style of steam boat!
The practice here is that, you kind of make your own dipping sauce for the steam boat! such a huge array to choose from!!
Interesting base! I never knew century eggs could be used as soup bases!

Beef

Taiwan Meat ball
Indeed the Taiwanese style of meat ball is so different from the Singapore one. Its not only bigger, bouncier, less meatier taste, but it does absorb the soup base quite well!

Goose Intestines
I decided to be adventurous and tried this that they sweared by that is the best steamboat dish ever! But i am sorry it still has that intestine taste.. i didn’t really like it .. but ok at least i tried!
One pleasant surprise that went well with the steamboat, was Ostrich meat! It was surprisingly yummy and tender! it tasted like a mix between beef and chicken!

Ostrich meat
this has been a wonderful encounter with hong kong style steamboat!
I do look forward to it!
