Verdict: 2/3 of us will return.
All the cakes were very nice, but I think consensually we thought the Chocolate Macadamia  was slightly flat…
The lemon sponge was very solid but yet not too heavy. My friend who ordered this is not a very sweet tooth, but she finished the whole cake. ( a very good yardstick to measure against).

Snacks of Taiwan

I decided to check out this place near my class! Because the last time I went there, they were sold out of food! Around 4 pm! So I thought I had to try out this place!

I was deciding between the lu rou fan(卤肉饭) and the chicken chop noodles (鸡排面), and decided to just go ahead with the noodles instead!!

The uncle was very friendly in attending to me.. But because most of the things are sold out by the time I got there, so do be prepared to go there slightly earlier! He was pretty generous with his servings! I could choose which vegetables (ok although not much choices left since almost everything is gone)  I wanted my noodles to be accompanied with.

Verdict: I like the batter of the chicken chop. I think its not doused in too much flour, and its crispy as well. The seasoning is quite different from the usual fried chicken chop kind of snack, in a nice way. The noodles were not over done ( I like) and quite springy. I will be back to try the other taiwanese delicacies!

After my class, i decided to grab a quick dinner before heading off to study again 🙂 so i ate somewhere near by and decided to try this ramen place near by

Chicken gyoza

Green tea – love the way the tea bag is presented 🙂

Verdict : 0.5/1 ( maybe might return) ramen base was rich and clear – quite a skill, but egg was mehhh.. Everyone around me seemed to order the spicy and non spicy specialty ramen, namely the black based garlic ramen. Maybe i might go back just to try it..
Gyoza was not the best tasting, but to be fair, it wasn’t dry inside..
I think the friendly service made up for it nonetheless 🙂

My close friend has been taking korean classes .. and she had leave that day, so she brought us to a restaurant that she herself brought exchange students from korea to dine at .. and had received well feedbacks from the korean students .. So she suggested we go try that out!

refreshing raddish cubes

this radish cubes saved me entirely throughout the spicy course of the lunch! it was refreshing on its on, and according to my friend, helped levelled out the spiciness of the other food.

Side dishes: Bean sprouts, kimchi, sliced potatoes

Side dish : suspicious black thing, spinach, egg

The chicken was one of the highlights of the meal! All had varying taste. I especially liked the garlic and the spicy one! although the spicy was a little too spicy for me .. but it was those kinda spicy food where you just know its good but hot and yet you can’t stop eating it!

Assorted Chicken: original, Garlic and Spicy

We also ambitiously ordered a hot pot that came in ramen, dumplings, luncheon meat, beamcurd sheets, vegs, rice cakes .. etc It was too much for us.. I wished we had  more people!  we were literally rolling out of the restaurant!! The soup was SUPER SPICY~ for me I was dying while drinking it up!

Hot pot!

I will definitely come back here for the chicken!! and bring more people to try the other food!
