We kindly got treated by Uncle P and Aunty M for lunch at their club 🙂
Our family always enjoy their company, especially Uncle P when he shares his experiences and viewpoints about Singapore, we all never fail to erupt into laughter and at the same time, agree largely to most of the things that he shares with us. A very knowledgeable man 🙂 Aunty M on the other hand, you would think she is just engaging and day dreaming away, but she would always say the wackiest thing at the wackiest moment. ( a couple of times sitting next to her in church, I thought I always did catch her sleeping, but she always said she was just ‘resting her eyes’ :p)
And is Singapore small or what, My mum’s gynaecologist that delivered my sister and I was also dinning there! she actually recognizes my mum and said she still looks young! haha ok was abit of a weird moment for me ..I mean I don’t think they really will remember the specific baby they delivered unless it’s some special case or some birthmark on the baby or something ..
Uncle P said that this branch of the club’s specialty was their Indian food.
And we ordered :
Special bean paste chicken
and not forgetting some local delights:
Pan fried ikan
Verdict: 6/7 of us will return for the Indian Food. We ordered alot more Indian cuisine, but I didn’t managed to take them in time before it got all snapped up! 😦 In fact, this is our second visit back there for the Indian Cuisine. I love the butter chicken 🙂 I think they might have been a little short-handed on staff, because service was always very long.
Uncle P mentioned another speciality here is the prawn noodles. My bro aka the mentai monster tried it the last time around, but he didn’t feel it was the best he had.
Singapore Island Country Club
240 Sime Road
We all finally decided to meet up – some of us have not seen each other for more than twice this year ever since the year began- and went to somewhere different from our usual normal hunts
I never knew about this place until i was brought here! Amazing how this is located in the heart of Orchard Road!!!!
The only kind of ayam pengyat aka smashed chicken ( and i stand corrected to be ayam bakar – for my whole life i mistook it as ayam pengyat- existed in food courts)And had the most unexpected surprise as to how this place blew my stomach over 🙂
We stepped into the wrong outlet at first, but ended up eventually finding the right outlet 🙂
We wanted kang kong but it was sold out! So we had the only next veg available – long beans
We were wondering if the fish was an actual whole fish and not deceitfully sliced to not piece back to form 1 whole fish : to our amazement
The fish was bbq to perfection- although troopie euni said the skin tasted like plastic- meat was nice and flavourful; a slight inclination towards the dry side though.
F.Y.I – She also mentioned how the chilli in the other shop was spicer. For low level chilli takers like me – didn’t matter because i thought it was still spicy and gulp down troopie pei pei’s bubble tea)
Verdict: 4/4 of us will return. Our favourite namely being the ayam peng itself, as well as the sotong bakar( wish that the portion was bigger) .. And to try new things on the extensive menu as well!
Becareful not to walk into the other store!
Friends and I have been into Pool lately. .. so the loser team will buy the winning team supper 🙂
Fortunately for me, I have a good partner, and we got treated to supper 🙂
we trudged to the only open eating places – namely the stretch of restaurants opposite beauty world for our supper treat .. and we went to Al-Ameen.
Teh Chinno, Teh Halia and Ice Teh
Roti Prata , eggs and onion, plain, eggs
Roti Bomb ❤
I think its quite a not bad over all prata place to be, and also because it opens till late 🙂 although I must say my encounter this particular day, there was quite a sneaky old man that kept casting looks at us all .. which was abit disturbing .. But I would return for the Roti bomb 🙂 and the teh chino
