Miyajima Bites

What do you do I mean staying in a Ryokan .. You have 2 meals covered, and just have to go around exploring ..
Miyajima to me is a quaint small town, a nice getaway to recharge, place for retirees to explore
This place seems to be packed with more Japanese tourists and even school children who make day trips to visit
the UNESCO sight (Torii Gate).

If you do get the chance,  We all definitely would return back to Miyajima for a day trip  or a night stay 🙂
Food Wise, for the Anago and Oysters -> definitely
The Deers you see around are very friendly, they do no bite but!! they seem to like paper for some reason. What I thought was amazing was the deers did not dare to enter the shops/ restaurants

Bye for now

On our way back to take the train to Osaka, We came across this Cafe called Blue Bird Cafe.
I totally  ask you to go inside and have a cuppa and talk to the friendly owner. He started this cafe literally by the road side. As a gimmick and as he managed to expand, he bought into the shop and it looked like his van drove into the shop. LITERALLY.

Verdict: 3/5 of us will return.
Overall the stay here was quite pleasant ( except when we were given a room that faced a construction site that woke us up early morning) .
The service was good in the sense the staff were very attentive, and I loved the tubs both outside and inside  soaking tubs

Inside soaking heaven ( yup those are lemons floating around)

Outside view : you could see the bridge and some of the lights from the building across miyajima ( don't worry no one can see you)

and I think above all the utensils and platings comparatively from the other ryokans so far in this part of the trip were very artsy

( perhaps due to their little artsy store they have in the ryokan)

Anago Meishi

Travelling to Miyajima, one thing that is a MUST EAT:
Anago Meishi (Sharp toothed eel steamed rice)

After Taking the JR train, on the way to catch the Ferry to Miyajima, we stopped by this place that my bro highly recommended :

Verdict: 5/5 will return (and we did return on the way back to Osaka)
The texture of the eel is so different from unagi – its bouncier, and tastes almost similar to the Chinese red grouper (hong ban) kind of firmness.
Although both looks the same, but i think we liked the sauce one better

The staff was very friendly in engaging in conversation with us. Setting was very much like a localised coffee shop that neighbours just freely came in and had a cuppa 🙂 if you like to look at potteries and cups etc, this is a very nice place that sell pretty artistic unique kind of cups ..

alrighties onward Miyajima!!!
